How to distinguish the quality of steel strip and aluminum strip in optical cable
The steel strip and aluminum strip in the optical cable are mainly used to protect the optical fiber from mechanical side pressure, moisture-proof and other effects. The better optical cable generally uses chrome-plated steel strip. Low-quality optical cables replace chrome-plated steel strips with ordinary iron sheets or black sheets (uncoated steel strips) with only one side of anti-rust treatment. Over time, corrosion will occur in the optical cables and hydrogen loss of the optical fibers will increase. Moreover, due to their easy separation from the sheath, they cannot form a comprehensive adhesive sheath and their moisture-retaining performance is very poor.
